Moving Stock: Transfer Orders Explained

You’ll need the Manage inventory permission and at least two stores set up in TaoRocket to move stock between them.
1. Access the Transfer Orders list
- From the sidebar, click Inventory ➔ Transfer Orders.
- You’ll see your existing transfer orders with their statuses.
2. Create a new transfer order
- Click New Transfer.
- Fill in the form with:
- From store – the location sending stock.
- To store – the receiving location.
- Transfer order date – defaults to today but can be adjusted.
- Notes – (Optional) with information to annotate.
- Add items and quantities to transfer.
3. Understand order statuses
- Draft: Order is created but not yet finalized. Can be deleted or edited freely.
- Pending: Order has been finalized and awaits transfer. Editable until fully transferred.
- Partially transferred: Some items have been moved; others remain. Still editable.
- Transferred: All items have been moved; order is closed and cannot be edited.
4. Transfer your stock
- When your transfer order is Pending or Partially transferred, the TRANSFERRED button appears.
- Click TRANSFERRED to begin moving stock items.
- Confirm transferred quantities for each line, then save to update inventory.
- For Draft orders, the TRANSFERRED button is not available.
5. Additional options
Use the MORE menu to:
- Save as PDF or CSV.
- Duplicate the order.
- Produce negative stock to prepare for the transfer (if needed) – it create a production order with the items that need to be produced to fulfill the transfer order.
- Cancel remaining items to close the order early.
6. Managing stock in multiple locations
- Transfer orders keep stock synchronized across locations.
- Track quantities available at both From and To stores while editing the order.
